Project Overview

A masterclass in seamless indoor-outdoor living, the Desert Sanctuary project unifies 8 distinct display zones and a 24-camera enterprise surveillance infrastructure across a sprawling Arizona estate. Leveraging a centralized Savant control architecture, the deployment delivers reference-grade media performance that transitions effortlessly from the climate-controlled master suite to the open-air pavilion.

01 / Indoor Media Environments & Reference Audio

The primary living spaces were engineered to balance high-impact visual performance with architectural discretion, establishing dedicated acoustic profiles tailored to each room’s function:

• Great Room 5.1 Reference Surround: Anchored by an 85-inch Sony OLED display on a 9-inch extension mount, supported by custom Speakercraft in-wall L/R channels, a Definitive Technology center speaker, and a high-impact Klipsch 15-inch subwoofer.
• Private Suites (Kitchen & Master Bedroom): Unified 85-inch Samsung 4K displays paired with high-fidelity soundbars for streamlined, low-profile performance.
• Master Suite Bath: An integrated 50-inch Samsung display powered by a dedicated Yamaha zone with flush-mount in-ceiling speakers.

02 / Outdoor Living & Custom Engineering

Extending the media envelope to the exterior required custom physical fabrication and multi-layered acoustic zoning built to withstand desert environmental factors while keeping equipment completely hidden.

The centerpiece of the exterior space is The Gazebo Pavilion, featuring a 55-inch waterproof outdoor display. To preserve a clean aesthetic, source gear is housed within a retrofitted, climate-controlled refrigerator enclosure featuring custom glass shelving for a unique “hidden tech” reveal.

Landscape audio is distributed across three discrete acoustic zones, supported by in-ground subwoofers and powered by 4 rack-managed Sonos Amps for centralized Savant control:

• Buddha Garden Zone: 6x Martin Logan rock speakers providing natural, environment-blended acoustic fill.
• Spa Pavilion Zone: 4x Martin Logan directional satellite speakers focused over the water feature.
• Walkway Zone: 4x Bose 360° ground-fill enclosures providing uniform acoustic coverage across transit paths.

03 / Dual-Rack Infrastructure & Surveillance Core

To minimize long cable runs across the sprawling floor plan and maintain optimal signal integrity, core processing was split into two strategically located enclosures:

The Primary Rack (Bedroom Closet) utilizes an 18U compact configuration housing the Savant core processor, Sony ES receiver, and a massive 4x18TB UniFi NVR array supporting 24 enterprise surveillance cameras. A secondary Distribution Rack (12U Wall-Mount in Master Closet) handles local switching, patching, and sub-zone amplification to ensure zero latency across the entire estate.
